Genade Grond Location
Genade Grond is situated South of Springbok, in Namaqualand. Northern Cape.
I am blessed to call this HOME and to be able to share this piece of God’s flower garden with you!
Namakwaland Meaning
Nama:
This refers to the Nama people, a Khoikhoi group with a distinct language and culture.
Khoekhoe:
This is the language spoken by the Nama people.
Kwa/Kwa-land:
These words are derived from the Khoekhoe language and mean “people’s land”.
Geographic Location:
Namaqualand is a semi-arid region that stretches along the west coast of Southern Africa, encompassing parts of both Namibia and South Africa.
Divisions:
The Orange River divides Namaqualand into Great Namaqualand (in Namibia) and Little Namaqualand (in South Africa).

Accommodation at Genade Grond
Genade Grond offers accommodation in a choice of 2 spacious and comfortably furnished self-catering units and is located outside Springbok.
HERBERG Cottage
The first spacious Cottage – HERBERG – can accommodate a total of 4 guests which share the use of a bathroom. This unit feature its own kitchen fully equipped with a stove, a microwave, Percolator, a fridge/freezer, as well as good quality cooking utensils. HERBERG is the only dwelling on the opposite portion of Genade Grond, tucked away and secluded from roads and other dwellings. I usually suggest this cottage for people that wants to paint/draw and be in absolute silence .. away from civilization, yet close enough to town for a quick shop or bite to eat.
NAMA NOOI Cottage
The second spacious cottage – NAMA NOOI – is also suitable for 4 guests which share the use of a bathroom. This unit feature its own kitchen fully equipped with a stove, a microwave, Percolator, a fridge/freezer, as well as good quality cooking utensils. NAMA NOOI is situated on the same portion of the farm as the Main house and the Old farm house, where you might see me, walking my dogs. Still very serene and peaceful, with floral bounty surrounding you, 360 degrees.
Shared Features
The living area of both units walk into a cozy closed braai room, with large glass doors to still enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee.with a view. Secure, undercover parking is provided. Unfortunately, pets cannot be accommodated. These units are unique is ideal for a stopover between Cape Town and Namibia, and is close to the Goegap Nature Reserve which offers hiking, and the opportunity to see a variety of bird- and animal life as well as flowers.
